OUR FEARLESS LEADER
THE ONE WHO STARTED IT ALL
OBAL: OUR BAD ASS LEADERKerri Walsh,
a five-time Olympian and three-time Olympic gold medalist who, alongside partner Misty May-Treanor, became one of the most dominant and beloved duos in volleyball history. Winning gold at Athens, Beijing, and London, she didn't just compete at the highest level — she redefined what longevity, athleticism, and pure competitive fire could look like on the sand.
Off the court, Kerri is the force behind Hero Volley and co-founder of p1440 — a youth volleyball platform built on the belief that every minute of every day holds the potential for greatness. Through camps, tournaments, mentorship, and a relentless commitment to the next generation, she's turned three decades of elite competition into something bigger than medals: a movement rooted in community, presence, and the enduring power of the game she loves.
THE PEOPLE'S CHAMPIONTaylor Crabb,
Raised on the beaches of Waikiki and forged at Long Beach State, Taylor Crabb has built one of the most decorated careers in American beach volleyball. A 3× All-American and 2013 National Player of the Year in college, he turned pro in 2015 and never looked back — collecting 14 AVP titles, 2 MVP awards, 7 Defender of the Year honours, and the fan-voted title of Most Exciting Player in AVP History.
A qualifier for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Taylor is as known for his character as his game — stepping aside after a positive COVID test so his partner could compete. Now partnered with Andy Benesh and locked in on the 2028 LA Olympics, he brings to Hero Volley the rare combination of elite pedigree, genuine love for the sport, and a relentless drive to keep growing the game he's spent a lifetime mastering.
THE WALL AT THE NETAndy Benesh,
A Southern California native and USC indoor standout, Andy Benesh made the transition to beach volleyball and immediately became one of the most dominant forces at the net in the game. On the international stage he's claimed gold at Dubai and Gstaad, earned multiple Elite16 podiums, and represented Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics — finishing 5th, one of the strongest results for an American men's team in recent memory.
Domestically, he's swept the AVP's top honours — MVP, Best Blocker, Team of the Year, and League Champion — cementing his status as one of the most decorated players of his generation. Now teamed up with Taylor Crabb and locked in on the 2028 LA Olympics, Benesh arrives at Hero Volley as one of the most exciting players in the sport — and one of the biggest reasons to watch this summer.
Casey Jennings,
MANHATTAN BEACH ROYALTYA defender's defender, Casey Jennings built one of the most respected careers in American beach volleyball on the foundation of consistency, grit, and an elite reading of the game. Domestically he claimed multiple AVP titles and Best Defensive Player honours — and sealed his legacy with a Manhattan Beach Open title in 2004, earning his place on the sport's iconic Walk of Fame.
On the international stage he added an FIVB title in The Hague to a career defined by competing at the highest level for over a decade. Now channelling that same standard into coaching and mentorship, Jennings arrives at Hero Volley as both a living piece of the sport's history and one of its most invested advocates for what comes next.
Kristin Cruz,
UNSTOPPABLE BY DESIGNDon't let the size fool you — Kristen Cruz is one of the most explosive offensive weapons in beach volleyball, a former LSU standout who turned pro and immediately became one of the most exciting players in the world to watch. Partnered with Taryn Brasher, she's helped build one of the sport's most dominant teams: multiple FIVB Elite16 gold medals, a top-5 world ranking, and a #2 seed at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Domestically, Cruz and Brasher have been equally untouchable — back-to-back Manhattan Beach Open titles in 2023 and 2024 placing them alongside Kerri Walsh Jennings in the rare company of teams to ever pull it off twice in a row. Creative, aggressive, and capable of scoring from anywhere on the court, Cruz arrives at Hero Volley as proof that the most dangerous player in the gym isn't always the tallest one.
THE BEIJING BEASTPhil Dalhauser,
Nicknamed "The Beijing Beast" for good reason, Phil Dalhausser is one of the greatest beach volleyball players to ever step on the sand. The 6'9" Florida native translated dominant indoor instincts into a career that rewrote the blocker position entirely — earning a World Championship (2007), Olympic Gold at Beijing, 60+ international medals, and the World #1 ranking across multiple seasons.
Domestically, his AVP résumé is equally untouchable: 4× MVP, 4× Best Offensive Player, 60+ tour victories, and AVP League Champion as recently as 2025. Still competing, still winning, and now partnered with Trevor Crabb — Dalhausser arrives at Hero Volley not as a legend taking a victory lap, but as a force with unfinished business.
Brooke Nuneviller,
DIG QUEENA two-sport force who dominates everywhere she plays, Brooke Nuneviller left the University of Oregon as arguably the most decorated player in program history — National Player of the Year, 4× All-American, and the only player in Pac-12 history to record 1,500+ kills and 2,000+ digs. She didn't just set the bar at Oregon, she buried it.
Since turning pro she's done the same at every level. In Major League Volleyball she's a back-to-back All-Star, 2025 Outside Hitter of the Year, and the all-time franchise leader in kills, attacks, and digs. On the AVP and FIVB Beach Pro Tour she's already collecting wins and podium finishes. Versatile, relentless, and built for the big moment — Nuneviller arrives at Hero Volley as one of the most complete athletes in the game today.
Geena Urango,
THE STEADY FORCEA USC-trained veteran with years of elite competition behind her, Geena Urango has built her professional career on the qualities that outlast highlight reels — composure, court awareness, and a volleyball IQ that makes every partner around her better. Comfortable as both defender and blocker, she's one of the most adaptable and dependable players on the AVP Tour.
On the domestic and international stage, Urango has accumulated multiple podium finishes and tournament victories while consistently holding her own against the best in the world. She doesn't play for the highlight reel — she plays to win, and she usually does. A true professional in every sense of the word, Urango arrives at Hero Volley as the kind of steady, experienced presence every great event needs.
THE SWISS ARMY KNIFETroy Field,
A UCLA-trained indoor player turned beach standout, Troy Field has built his pro career on something rarer than raw power — an elite volleyball IQ and the ability to play every role on the court with equal conviction. Blocker, defender, playmaker — Field does it all, making him one of the most adaptable and valuable players on the AVP Tour.
Off the sand he's become one of the sport's most compelling voices, co-hosting a live beach volleyball stream on Twitch alongside Taylor Crabb and Sean Rosenthal that's redefining how fans experience the pro game. Competitor, communicator, culture builder — Troy Field arrives at Hero Volley as one of the most complete players on tour and proof that the next generation of beach volleyball looks very, very good.
Taryn Brasher,
A former LSU A former LSU standout turned world-class beach competitor, Taryn Brasher has spent the last few years doing something very simple — winning, consistently, at every level of the sport. Partnered with Kristen Nuss, she's claimed multiple FIVB Elite16 gold medals, sits inside the top-5 world ranking, and entered the 2024 Paris Olympics as the #2 seed — one of the most dominant international rises in recent American beach volleyball history.
Domestically the story is the same. Back-to-back Manhattan Beach Open titles in 2023 and 2024 place Brasher and Nuss in rare company — only the fourth team in history to achieve the feat, alongside legends including Kerri Walsh Jennings herself. Relentless on defense, elite under pressure, and with an Olympic gold firmly in her sights — Brasher arrives at Hero Volley with plenty of unfinished business.
Megan Rice,
THE FUTURE IS NOWEvery generation of beach volleyball has its rising force — and Megan Rice is exactly that. A former standout indoor player turned beach competitor, she's brought her athleticism, physicality, and relentless work ethic to the AVP Tour and is climbing fast. Offensively dangerous, defensively committed, and built for the demands of the professional game on both sides of the net.
Already gaining international experience on the FIVB Beach Pro Tour, Rice is the kind of player who makes veterans take notice and fans lean forward. She's not here to learn the game — she's here to take it. Hero Volley Montauk might just be the stage where everyone else catches up to what those already watching already know.
